About the Role

-Mentor and train paralegals and other legal or programmatic assistants to ensure the successful support of all legal and litigation efforts of the organization;

- oversee and support other administrative and office maintenance tasks as required;

- serve as paralegal on their own docket of cases;

Litigation-related duties to be executed and overseen include:

-requesting public records and tracking requests, performing case opening and closing procedures;

-participating in client/witness outreach and interviews, including inside jails/prisons;

-organizing, maintaining, and managing case files;

-drafting letters and simple legal filings;

-managing process service;

-reviewing memoranda of law and other legal documents;

-reviewing and coordinating discovery, and drafting discovery requests;

-helping with bar admissions;

-and assisting with preparation for all depositions, court proceedings.

About the Company

TCRP is seeking a Supervising Paralegal to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process from investigation and discovery through trial and post-trial findings and appeals. The supervising paralegal will have their own independent case docket they are responsible for. The supervising paralegal will also be responsible for supervising up to three paralegals and possible additional assistants as part of the regular duties. The supervising paralegal will assist with the coordination and management of the legal and administrative needs for the legal docket across the three legal programs. As such, the supervising paralegal will have close working relationships with the Program Directors and Supervising or Senior Attorneys for each program. With the support of Program Directors, the supervising paralegal is expected to drive a cohesive, supportive legal management strategy for the successful execution of all legal matters.
